"When I was invited to jam with Yawning Man out in Joshua Tree two years ago in April, I was very excited. I stacked all of my weirdest pedals onto a board and drove out there to embrace some improvisational jams. Whenever I jam with those guys, I have no idea where it’s going, which makes it fun because it keeps me on my toes. We had scheduled an entire 10-hour day at Gatos Trail, but little did I know my jam session would get cut short as I had to bail for a home repair emergency. So we only got five hours—but that five hours gave us Volumes Three and Four. These are the longer jams we did, and the mix is reminiscent of ’70s dub reggae. Jamming with Mario, Bill, and Gary is always a pleasure, and I hope they continue to invite me out so we can release Volumes Five through 1000." - Bob Balch
