Third Man
WHITE STRIPES - Elephant 2LP
$35.95
This and the two albums that followed (Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump) have managed, with just 2 or 3 songs per album, to capture the attention of a whole new generation. It didn't matter if they were into rock or electronica or whatever. While Get Behind Me Satan is a more cohesive and friendly album and probably a bit funnier, you can perfectly see why it propelled them to pseudo-stardom, "Seven Nation Army" is a definitive 2000s anthem. Casting this very well known song aside, Elephant's winner card is definitely "There's No Home For You Here". The album does start to lose cohesion towards the end, but it's also part of their appeal and their garage rock orientation.
