UNSANE - s/t LP

The self-titled debut album from New York City’s Unsane is a train wreck that never waited to happen. It just burst out of the floodgates and keeps on wrecking. Nor will this runaway train called Unsane ever stop, at least until the universe is destroyed.

And oh what a fiery heap of the most urgent noise that's gonna be!

Did you ever buy an album when you were younger solely because the album art was cool, only to find out that when you got home and played it, the music sounded nothing like what you thought it would sound like? Well, this is definitely not the case with Unsane's brutal yet effective debut album. If you can get past the sanguinary album cover (taken from the NY Times crime photography archive) then you're in for a real hardcore treat.

One of the definite highlights of this record is Charlie Ondras' aggressive and insistent drumming. Sad that he passed away of a heroin overdose shortly after this album came out.
