SPARKS - Hello Young Lovers 2LP
Double 180 gram black vinyl.
Our favourite Sparks album! Needless to say... Highly recommended.
Following up their masterpiece that was Lil' Beethoven, Sparks decide to continue with that direction musically, which only makes sense, as it certainly brought them success. Because of this, we get an album that is incredibly strong and a worthy follow-up to it's predecessor. Think Propaganda to Kimono My House's glam stylings, but in something that is even more uniquely Sparks.
The brothers do have a bit more fun here, getting a bit more wild with their song topics, and adding more guitars and regular instruments to what was before a more orchestral sound is a strong choice, and only makes sense after teasing us with it on Ugly Guys with Beautiful Girls. Dick Around is a fantastic opener, and easily one of Sparks' best, and songs like Rock, Rock, Rock and As I Sit Down to Play the Organ match in their grandiose and epic display of orchestral art pop that is quirky like no other.
