It's sort of like The Men, but more hardcore, and a bit more reminiscent of early-80s LA punk. It's pretty good. Maybe even a little like store favourite the Wilful Boys?

Yet another Pittsburgh rock recipe has us scratching our heads and breaking our teeth. There is no way to describe this nasty little platter without avoiding the pure rock 'n' roll undercurrent that SLICES has newly adopted.

Much like the appetizer plate "Cruising," there is a dash of hardcore, a sprig of noise-rock, two dabs of smelling soundscape and a healthy dollup of anxious animosity. But they've kicked it up a couple notches and stripped away all the fat.

What we are left with is a lean, mean-mashed killer of an album.
