RADIOHEAD - Hail To The Thief 2LP
$48.95
180gm double vinyl.
Hail to the Thief is unfairly “overlooked” in Radiohead's discography. Every time Radiohead puts out an album, it's marked as an event. It's front page headlines in the music-world each time, big, black, bold letters, “Radiohead to Release a New Album.” Unfortunately, a lot of people have come to the conclusion that Hail to the Thief is a bit of a scattershot album; it tries to appease everyone at the same time. Fans who enjoyed Radiohead's alternative rock era, the pre-Kid A era, are given half an album, while fans of the more experimental, electronic type are given the other half. Regardless, there's a certain charm in Hail to the Thief. It's united in a single theme, one of political issue, drawing on inspiration from an Orwellian classic, to the title harkening to Bush's term as president, to the album artwork, to Thom Yorke surprisingly chanting, “Dance you fucker” repeatedly.
