With a cover like that it looks like either some portentous grunge mopefest or some kind of black metal album. And if you judge books by covers you're going to be in for an incredibly rude awakening when you actually put this sucker on because The Pixies really couldn't be farther from those two things in mood. In terms of the US in the 80's the Pixies are really the last great college rock band to arrive (unless you count Jane's Addiction as college rock or Nirvana as 80's), and by many counts they're also the best.
