Hands down the best album from the new Opeth era. It is complex, nuanced and dripping with atmosphere. Akerfeldt's clean vocals are powerful and perfectly compliment the more urgent and heavy feel of the music. He has also really perfected the delicate soft delivery for the albums softer moments - his falsettos are beautiful. The bands musicianship really shines all throughout the album. The separate instruments all shine but compliment one another and really come together for a very organic feeling. The songwriting is better than it has been in years. The prog-rock style they have been striving for has matured and come to fruition on this release. This is a serious return to greatness for Opeth.
