OFFSPRING - s/t LP

The Offspring is typically thought of as the archetypal awkward debut, an album that’s for the fans and the fans only. The sound of the album is raw skate punk par excellence, with the added appeal of lyrics that are frequently dark, gruesome and absurd. Dexter is clearly racing to cram all the words in most of the time, something that only adds to the high octane frenzy of the songs. The tunes come thick and fast, whether the anthemic 'I'll Be Waiting' or the dramatic 'Tehran' which utilises eastern style riffing and drumming.
