Given To The Rising is full of cathartic anger from start to finish. It’s dark, it’s brooding and only relents to breathe every now and then. Even the usually simple and ornamental short tracks are heavy. Scott Kelly puts on one of his best vocal performances and Dave Edwardson’s plodding thick bass fills the record.
This is a band that put all gas into the studio.
