Store favourites return! Since debuting in 2009, Connecticut psych band MOUNTAIN MOVERS (previously having released albums through the now defunct Trouble In Mind label) have delivered a lengthy discography floating through rich textures and experimental sounds.

Now the group releases a new instrumental album, building from the sounds of 2024’s double album Walking After Dark, while trading in vocals for synths, keys, percussion, and drum machines.

Self-recorded, Knifethrowers sprawls five tracks with a run time of nearly 42 minutes. The songs came together as free jams and were recorded live to a Tascam 488 with no overdub.

The album captures a journey through time and the changing of the seasons, reaching its destination in closing track “Blue Fort.”
