50th anniversary edition.

Along with perhaps Richard Clapton, this album more than any other exemplifies the idyllic life of Australia in the seventies. Get your mum to post your dole form in, load up the Kombi van and head off for six weeks up the coast: sunshine, surf and bush - all in a mellow haze from the old orchy bottle bong, of course.

Make no mistake whatsoever, "Open Up Your Heart" is right up there with any of the classic hits of the early seventies, and it has a beautiful peace n' love message. "Simple Ben" is also a rustic singer-songwriter classic. Brian Cadd's music is pretty ordinary piano-based laid-back good-time rock n' roll, but it's got a nice authentic sound. Taman Shud is better: mellowish progressive rock slightly reminiscent of Focus. And surprise surprise, another G Wayne Thomas melodic gem, "Day Comes".

If you have hermit tendencies, the album will especially resonate - there's an overriding theme of getting away from everyone and just being one with nature. Oh, and the film is all great surfing. Pure hippie music.. nice.
