Mojave 3 closed their five-album run with a record that traded much of the band's early melancholy for jangly guitars, Sixties pop melodies and an upbeat indie-rock feel. Closer in spirit to The Shins and Band of Horses than Ask Me Tomorrow, it revealed another side of the group while retaining touches of their country-folk roots.

The album marked the end of an era. Rachel Goswell's illness halted touring and recording, the band's deal with 4AD had run its course, and members were increasingly focused on other projects. Although Mojave 3 briefly reunited in 2011, they soon faded from view.

Growing interest in Slowdive and shoegaze later brought renewed attention to Mojave 3's catalogue.
