MIDNIGHT OIL - Place Without A Postcard LP
Place Without a Postcard rails about awkward, unpopular truths affecting regular people. The street-level struggles in the down-and-out suburbs, the mundane existence of the anonymous, the awkwardness of reality brought forth in a collection of sweaty, blotchy, ugly tales.
At least three reasonably successful singles emerged from this album, the best known probably being opening track "Don't Wanna Be The One". But more memorable was the brooding antiwar epic "Armistice Day", and the rant 'n' rock of final track "Lucky Country".
