Trans-Brunswick express
LXRP - s/t LP
Highly recommended.
We've really enjoyed the few songs heard here.
The band’s central ethos of writing catchy, pop-infused music runs throughout, however, with tracks like Artifacting and Sapper built around commanding vocal hooks and danceable drum machine beats.
Vocalist Mish Furner’s lyrics vividly combine personal observances with oblique literary intertextuality, painting pictures of an argument between lovers, a decaying church in a regional town, or a person in dire need of a reality check. Heather Jardany’s guitar textures range from lazy, reverb-soaked chords to chunky, hardcore-laden riffs, tinged with the classic chorus-pedal sound of Australian post-punk. Amy Rogers’ bass prowess brings everything together, springing deftly between distorted gallops and jazz-infused slaps.
