Look, I was just as skeptical of the D’Addario brothers as the next guy. But with each new release, they kept catching my attention.

“Sure, it’s nicely executed - but it’s pastiche!”

Now I have finally given in. Given in to the melody. Given in to the beautiful chord changes. Given in to those pitch-perfect harmonies. “2 or 3” will not leave my head.

“I Just Can’t Get Over You” is jangle perfection. The closing track “Your True Enemy” is a slyly dark psych gem. Has there been a better bottling of '60s sunshine vocal pop or '70s garage rock in the modern era? Maybe not.

They obviously have the musical chops, and the writing is pitch-perfect, head and shoulders above their peers.

Throw this album on repeat, drop preconceived notions and enjoy the kaleidoscope these young wunderkinds make for no reason other than the sheer love of it.
