An album full of sweet sounding love songs and death ballads steeped in old world charm and the dark folk music of yesteryear.

Recorded live to 1 ½ inch tape by Myles Mumford (Rolling Stock Recording Rooms) over three sessions in Ballarat's historical Main Bar, the album maintains a raw fragility reminiscent of evenings Hollick has spent singing on the porch of her country home.

The accompaniment from Kat Mear (of Cash Savage and the Last Drinks) on fiddle and Pete Fidler (Bill Jackson, Bluestone Junction) on dobro and mandolin, sheds light on Hollicks inspirations drawn from Appalachian, cajun and early blues recordings.

Freya Josephine Hollick is an Old-Timey, Country, Folk singer/songwriter from the Victorian Goldfields. She was born and raised in Ballarat, and although she has tried her hand at city living, Ballarat and rural Victoria are where she is most at home.

Freya has written and performed for many years in many different styles, though has always had her roots in folk music, coming to earlier 20th Century folk, blues and country music through a hunger for knowledge of how and from where modern music evolved.

Well versed in all kinds of music, Freya has followed a path back to a time that holds true to her voice, her songwriting and her story. Freya's voice has been described as haunting, as both powerful and fragile, it is truly a voice unlike any other, and one that is of another time.
