Elder is a prog-metal band based in Berlin Germany, but originally from Boston MA. They've definitely come into their own over the course of their career and evolved as a metal band. Originally starting out as a solid riff-heavy doom metal group, the band would lean more and more into experimental metal/prog metal with each album.

Starting out as a stoner rock/ doom metal group, the band has definitely pushed the boundaries of what stoner rock is, developing a more artistic sound with every album. Incorporating more psychadelia, melodic harmonies, and progressive elements to their music. They do all of this while still carrying the torch of their original doom metal riff-heavy roots.
