NME reckons that the 10-second intro to Son Of A Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield is the greatest 10 seconds of music ever recorded. It’s hard to argue with as it is very good indeed. Dusty Springfield released Dusty In Memphis in 1969 and utilised the talents of the city’s finest session musicians. It was produced by Jerry Wexler and Tom Dowd and is thought of as her best work, and is arguably one of the best albums of all time.
