The centerpiece of this album is hands down Barnett's unique singing style. It is lazy. It is deadpan. In her own words, it sounds "effortless". And yet at the same time, those seemingly carefree vocal performances tie with her incredible guitar playing and her band's accompaniment to its fullest extent.
