Bikini Kill were a seminal band, taking punk rock back to its roots, spearheading the riot grrrrl movement and showing a whole new generation of girls new ways to look at the world and their place in it. Their albums are all great, but the singles are absolutely essential, and its great to see this on vinyl after all these years. They had a blistering sound, coruscating, visceral lyrics and a fiercely intelligent, impassioned frontwoman in Kathleen Hannah. New Radio, Rebel Girl and I Like Fucking are all stone cold classics, but everything on here is worth hearing. Anyone with even the slightest interest in punk rock needs to be checking this out imediately.
