By their final studio album, Rocket from the Crypt had fully explored their sound, which had evolved very little in their 20 years as band. This is by no means an indictment of their musical skill or a criticism of the band as a whole - their blend of punk rock, rockabilly, and a horns section that can light a track on fire is a unique and enthralling mix that holds up to near-endless repeat listens.
RFTC albums have a bad habit of dragging in the final third, so the band took the obvious path here and just decided to leave it out. This album zips by at a blazing pace and doesn't give you a chance to catch your breath. Musically, it continues with the tight cohesion of the full band that Group Sounds executed to perfection.
