This record and the last two showed how much the Ramones have matured lyrically and musically have opened up to other genres. For example, their symphony in "Bye Bye Baby"; Iggy Pop inspired "Worm Man"; "Bop Til You Drop" and "I'm Not Jesus" both have metal overtones in a novelty sense; "Garden of Serenity" has dark melodic chords of death rock; and "I Lost My Mind" is one of Dee Dee's greatest '77 punk style tunes ever written.
