First time vinyl reissue of the debut album from composer Philip Glass, originally released in 1971 on his own Chatham Square imprint.

Well-known today as a composer of film scores and operas, Glass was unknown at the time of this recording. Those familiar with his more recent work might get a jolt from this one. Dominated by Farfisa organs, the repetitive pulsing rhythms of the piece quickly make their presence felt. This early piece comes at a time when Glass was still developing as a composer/performer and the youthful energy is quite evident.
