We first spruiked Cindy Lee more than 8 years ago when we were stocking the equally brilliant, Malenkost. Glad I kept a copy actually cos it's long out-of-print. Seems the world has finally caught on the genius of Patrick Flegel. Here's what was said about Malenkost, followed by our thoughts on Diamond Jubilee.

Diamond Jubilee takes a wide range of influences, from the Beatles, Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, My Bloody Valentine, The Beach Boys, Nico, Ethiopian jazz, Afro Beat, Swans and even 50’s rockabilly. It has an undeniable vintage aesthetic and quality to it, however it takes on incredibly modern and futuristic production style that make it sound post-dystopian. The whole album is layered in glistening synths and heavily distorted guitars, that make the experience sound vaguely familiar, yet it sounds like something entirely new and unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.
