GEESE - Projector LP
Projector's heavy post-punk influence and thick, psychedelic atmospheres and off-the-wall progressions are quite an attractive sound.
It's not hard to hear the massive influence from bands like Women, Foals and early Devo, however Geese paint in their own style here, merging those influences and more with other, further-out inspirations, for things like the pseudo-Math Rock progressions in tracks like "Opportunity Is Knocking" and "Fantasies / Survival", or the thick, rhythmic Post-Punk Revival drums in "Rain Dance" and "Projector", or the beautiful guitars on "Bottle" and "First World Warrior", and the hypnotic soundscapes on "Exploding Houses" and "Disco." In just 9 songs, there's a lot to unpack and experience!
Cameron's songwriting is part human, anecdotal retellings of relationships, passion and depression, and part stories of supernatural beings, darkness and spirits and paranormal imagery, woven by way of Cameron's AMAZING singing voice.
