DEAD TOOTH - Birthday Boohoo 7" (colour vinyl)
Limited edition of 100 copies on black and blue swirl colour vinyl.
Dead Tooth’s sound brings a welcome discordance to a dystopian landscape. The self-proclaimed “rodeo-core” quintet from Queens, NY weaves high-energy hooks, brazen lyrics, and dirty sax leads into a refreshingly unhinged version of “post-punk” that has earned them comparisons to acts like Refused, At the Drive-In and The Jesus Lizard.
Since the release of their sophomore EP "Pig Pile" on Trash Casual, the band has put out two original singles, "Sporty Boy" and "Electric Earth," earning praise from NME and SPIN magazine, and most recently dropped a scintillating trash punk cover of Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer,” produced by Jeff Berner of Psychic TV.
On their debut Greenway 7", Side A features the crowd-favored, sax-laden, art-punk odyssey "Birthday Boohoo" - a five-minute long, groove heavy high-energy assault on the senses that’ll leave you with a sore neck and some debilitating synesthesia. Produced by Tom Beaujour (Nada Surf, Juliana Hatfield) the track weaves psych-rock, post-punk and jazz into a frazzled narrative about the horrors of encountering your own surprise birthday party on a heroic dose of mushrooms.
