Highly recommended by Strangeworld.

"In the late 80s and early 90s, U.C.P. were Sweden's majestic combined answer to The Stooges, Black Flag and the early freaked-out Pink Floyd." - David Fricke (Rolling Stone)

Just read what a bloke from Melbourne had to say about THE GREATEST BAND EVER because well, he nails it.

"From Sweden hailed Union Carbide Productions and it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that these guys loved the Stooges.  They had the sound and they more than had the attitude to boot.  In some ways their sound, especially on the earlier songs on this album, sound too good to be true.  They certainly did their homework in 'imitating' that festering squall that made the Stooges such an awesome and ugly band.  The attitude here is one of absolute excess, fueled by whatever substance is going at the time.  I can very well understand the boredom that helps fuel the emotion that's on hand when you hear this great record.

Side one is as perfect as The Stooges ever were. I know that's a big statement but I reckon it's true.  With the sound cranked up this mob certainly were more than a pale imitation of their heroes and the talent unleashed here is a real treat to slash your head open too.  Side two is a little more experimental with use of industrial percussion and distorted vocals on 'In the Air Tonight', more Stooges raving on 'Three Mile Eyes', a political savaging aimed at the business world in 'Teenage Bankman', a pseudo head job recorded for your pleasure called 'Pour Un Flirt Avec Toi' and the lengthy and very scary 'Down on the Beach' which closes off this amazing and very underrated album. You've just gotta get a copy from somewhere if you can be bothered.  It's all sung in English too and it's obvious that side two is based on 'Funhouse' in that the longer the thing goes on for the more chaotic and out of control it becomes.  A totally over the top masterwork that is highly recommended." - James Jones
