In opening track \"1969\", Iggy sings about boredom and dread... this ain't no flower-power hippy sh!t. There's no flashy musicianship here, most songs are two or three chords played over and over, but the lack of complexity is implicit to this record's appeal; if you are looking for simple music that transcends it's limitations by creating a sonic atmosphere that is completely unique, The Stooges debut has it in spades - this is a seminal punk record to say the least.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\"I Wanna Be Your Dog\" is perhaps the albums highlight. The Doors-ish \"Ann\" is great too, and the album's closing track \"Little Doll\" ends in an incredible howl of wah-wah, some of the best wah ever recorded, it just sounds so....apocalyptic.
