Parquet Courts combine the lyrical smarminess and literary wit of early '90s indie rock (owing a particular debt to Pavement) with the rigidity and sharp, angular attack of Wire. The result is 15 cuts of pure energy and stellar songcraft. Nothing that they're doing is particularly new or revolutionary, but who cares when the tunes are this solid?
